Great find.
It would have been nice if I could use it, however, my 8" Tab A says the app was message for an older veterinarian of Android 🤔

So I guess I'll have to lean on an iFriend for some help with this.

c!

An Avare user, Andrew Sarangan wrote a program to switch the stratus between open and foreflight mode.

The program is called ADS-B monitor and can be downloaded here - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.sarangan.adsb

I just updated to the stratus transponder with waas for ads-b out and the stratus 3i mounted under the dash with an external antenna for ads-b in. I had a lot of trouble getting the ads-b in to display on my android tab A but I was able to crack the code. The 3i is designed to work with foreflight so with an ipad or iphone ads-b in is seamless. Using the Avare app is not so seamless. First step is to use an ipad or iphone with the stratus horizon pro app installed. Then connect the ipad or iphone to the 3i via wifi. Once connected, open the app and enable "Open ADS-B Mode" and close the app. After this mode is enabled, then go to android tablet and open avare, go to IO, select port 4000, and check listen. Then go to preferences and select GPS, GPS Position Source, select built-in GPS only, not all available or avare apps only. If you select the wrong one then the map will blink on and off constantly. I hope you do a video about this.

Avare running on Moto G6 with Dual XGPS selected as GPS source gives me a black screen with airplane icon and the message "download sectional". When selecting source as "internal" the Avare runns normally though without any ADSB info. When selecting all available I get a flashing screen that goes between the map and balnk download sectional.

When I run a Samsung tablet with the Dual XGPS the gps settings all runn as expected.

I have made sure all other apps are off, and everything is optomized.

Thanks,
Ben

you can try to "side load" ADS-B monitor, often that will work.

You can download the APK file from Andrew's web site - https://m.apkpure.com/ads-b-monitor/org.sarangan.adsb/download/1.1

After you download the file use file manager to locate the file in your downloads directory, when you click on it you should get a warning about installing unknown applications, accept the warning and install the application.

It's been a while since I added that app to Google Play. I will take a look if I can recompile it for the newer androids.
