I’ve noticed the revisions and updates have slowed down. Is AvareX considered released now or is it an RC or still Beta?

AvareX is good enough to take some time to watch and wait and put some miles on it. There are a few bugs that need to be fixed and will be done soon.

1. Avare had the ability to filter or even mute ADSB collision alerts.  Will that be added to AvareX?

2. I just replaced the Android phone upon which I had AvareX installed.  The app transferred, but without any of my data.  Is there any way to backup and restore the aircraft and W&B data I configured?

That's not labeled backup, but I guess User Documents, Share, to Google Drive is like backing up?  And then I guess Import to restore a backup?

Yes, backup user database where you like e.g. Google drive. Then restore on new device.

I Shared "User Data" from my old device to OneDrive, and I found it to Import on my new device, but the aircraft and W&B data still aren't showing.  Am I missing something?

UPDATE: Found it - I had to close and reopen AvareX to make it appear.  Thanks!

Another pilot emailed me the .txt checklists files he successfully imported into his AvareX.  I tried to import them into my AvareX checklists, but they don’t appear.  I’ve tried importing them from OneDrive and when that didn’t work, I tried importing them from internal device storage.  In both cases, I get no error message, but the checklists simply don’t import.  After I click on the checklist .txt file I want to import, I just end up back at a blank Checklists screen.

 

Any ideas?

Brian, default Android text character encoding is UTF-8. Perhaps the file is encoded differently?

Thanks for the advice, but the .txt files open just fine from my file manager app.  I can also import them into “Documents” in AvareX, but they continue to fail to import as Checklists.

I was flying from Washington DC to NY today, using AvareX, and I wasn’t seeing traffic or TFRs.  I confirmed that both layers were on.  On the same device with the same ADSB dongle, I then tried legacy Avare, and both the traffic and the TFRs were shown.  See screenshots.

I have a Pixel 8 and a Lenovo Tab M8 (wifi only) running a custom ROM and another running Lenovo firmware, all running 0.59.
All are displaying traffic when using an external ADSB source (in this case, Stratux) or the internet.  I havent been able to get up to test using FIS-B for the TFRs.
I'd say try with internet instead of your dongle just to make sure SOMETHING is working.  What are you using for middleware between your dongle and AvareX?  I'd be happy to test traffic at least using a dongle instead of a wifi connected ADSB device.

I’m using a Amazon.com: NooElec NESDR Nano 3 - Premium Tiny RTL-SDR w/Aluminum Enclosure, 0.5PPM TCXO, SMA & MCX Input & Custom Heatsink. RTL2832U & R820T2-Based Software Defined Radio : Electronics connected to my Samsung Z Fold6 via an OTG adapter and the Avare ADSB Pro app.

 

I see traffic and TFRs in Avare, but TFRs *don’t* appear for me in AvareX – only traffic.

 

I’d be happy to try getting my TFRs from the Internet – could you explain how to configure for that?

My TFRs just load and display when I start the app.  They are pulled over the data connection (whether cellular or wifi).  If I havent used the app in a while (I assume more than a day or two) it starts out with nothing shown and then after about 30 seconds, they show up.  If I re-open, they are saved and display immediately.  Pressing on the 'time' (clock) symbol at the top of the shape brings up the details and shows "*internet received hh:mm".  
I'm assuming for some reason they just arent showing on your model device.  I'm in the DC SFRA so when I'm at home, I always see it, but if its missing, it shows up after a few seconds when the update finishes.
I'd say maybe try without the adapter and close the ADSB Pro app somehow, as the ADSB data feed may be blocking the internet data feed.

I just tried opening AvareX without the dongle connected and without Avare ADSB Pro running, but I still don't see TFRs.  They show fine in Avare, but not AvareX.  I tried it on both screens of  my Z Fold.

right now neither Avare and AvareX display TFR data received via FIS-B (ADS-B in), hopefully that'll be rectified soon.

Flew 8 hours yesterday on Avarre legacy, the CVG VP TFRs showed up fine.
