Screen goes black (with aircraft still showing) with "download update" notice even though current charts are installed.

Legacy app, seems very stable on ground, but as soon as airborne the chart goes black and I get the "download update" message, and only briefly (half second at a time) shows the chart before going black again. Current charts are downloaded and the GPS signal is very solid.  While black the screen does still show my aircraft symbol and last shown ADS-B traffic.  I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app but still seems to be happening.  Until I can figure it out the app is just useless to me.  Any ideas what's happening with it?

I suspect you have GPS enabled for "all available sources" try changing it to either internal or external only.
