My laptop is running Window 10.  I've downloaded the zip files from Stratux but my system can't figure out what an .img file is.  It thinks it's a digital "image" and opens an image editor.  What Win10 file should I use to open these Linux files?

There is probably a simple sequence of steps to figure out what app I need to load that can handle these files and copy them to an empty SD card but I can't locate it on any of the threads.

It would be helpful to able to do this since I have had bad luck with micro SD cards lately.  While were at it how do I get rid of "me" as an ID, don't know why that happened and even I think it's stupid.

Thanks,

Mike

Hi James.
A .img is a Binary / code file that you can open with a Hex editor but it will not make much sense to you, unless you want to get into Machine / Assembly language.
The way to use that file is to transfer it directly in / on your SD card that you put in a USB reader / slot, or via Bluetooth, on to the card and Stratux will execute it on boot up / when it starts.
Post here for more info, or if this does not answer your question. TV

This Forum has a primary focus on the Apps4Av Android apps. I'm
wondering if a better resource for the initial installation and
configuration of a new Stratux would be one or more of the online sites
dedicated to that. So here's a list of some links in case it might be
helpful for you and others (including me, when I finally get ADS-B Out):

The excellent "official" website is:
http://stratux.me/

EAA did this article:

Here's a list of over 1,000 YouTube videos:
https://www.google.com/search?q=Stratux+site%3Ayoutube.com&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8

Please do post back here on your progress.
