> Thanks for nothing. No help or insight ever came
Guess you're annoyed that none of the Apps4Av volunteers or paid
employees of the XGPS150 supply chain helped resolve the issue?
> in the interest of helping the next guy with this issue... here's an
update.
I'm glad you've taken the time to share the solution you found, because
it seems to me quite likely that there are others with an XGPS150 who
have encountered this issue.

If you're referring to the free open source Apps4Av app with that name,
my understanding is it was originally intended for use with a secondary
Android device's GPS. It was so that someone with say, two Android
phones, could run Avare on a "primary" phone and put the secondary one
somewhere (glare shield for instance) with good view of the sky. The
GPS in that secondary one would then supply its GPS data to the primary
one via Bluetooth connection.
I'm impressed that you've figured out how to use this app for connecting
to the non-Android XGPS150! If you can provide any details on what
specific steps and settings you used to configure Avare and Bluetooth
GPS it might be helpful for anyone else with external GPS source
difficulties, especially a non-Android source and particularly the
XGPS150. Such details might also be helpful for any future work by the
Avare volunteer Dev Team to integrate that capability into the Avare app.
