Just migrating over from Avare to X and playing with some features and when I hit "yes" to exit it closes, but when I go back in it's still asking me "do you want to exit" and the map is still populated with the old test data. What am I missing here??

When I restart my tablet, is the only way I can get it to close.
Regular Avare works fine.

My tablet does the exact same thing.   (Samsung Tab A7)

One other thing, I had just uploaded the newest version of  AvareX from the web. As far as I can remember the previous version of X I had did not have this problem though I used original Avare for my flying and did not play with this much.

I'm running AvareX on a Samsung Tab A11, and it does the same thing. Instead of closing the app when clicking 'yes' to the prompt to exit, it seems to just move the app to the background and not actually close it. However, since that was also the same way that legacy Avare behaved on my old Samsung Galaxy Tab S2, I just assumed that was the way it worked. Having said that, there is something you can do to actually shut down background processes without having to reboot your tablet, which is what I do to shut down either the Avare or AvareX. I'm sure you've noticed the standard 3 buttons at the bottom of your Android screens. Those 3-buttons are the navigation buttons (or make up the navigation bar). Those three buttons are the Back Button, the Home Button, and the Recent Apps (or Overview Button). If you press the Recent Apps Button, what is displayed is any app that is currently open or recently used on your tablet/phone. There, on that screen, you can choose to close individual apps or all recently used apps, without having to reboot the tablet to close them. That is what I've been doing all the way back to legacy Avare, and still do in AvareX.

Well I'm glad I'm not the only one with this problem, hoping the programmers can look into this and fix it.

Why not just going to "Recent Apps" view and swiping AvareX off the screen...?

Was hoping since multiple persons are also experiencing this that the mods/programmers would weigh in and acknowledge.

My android tablet was also just updated with iPlay50_Pro_V2.0_20260301 which is the latest version and still Avare X won't close. Regular Avare still works fine.

I prefer Avare to Avare X as so many others have also indicated. That being said, if you can't even address basic issues with X like the program being able to close, how do do expect people who are trying this to embrace the change to migrate. IMO you need a LIGHT version of X that is similar to original and works easily for basic functions. I am a monthly supporter and glad to do so, but don't understand why there has been no reply from programmers to this issue.

Closing of app is not a priority for dev.
You may close the app from android center button press it you may keep it running in the background without any adverse effects.

My issue with Avare X is that the program does NOT completely close.  No matter what you do, it continues to run in the background on whatever you were last navigating (like minimizing an open item in Windows). Pushing the center button and closing the program from the "yes" prompt produce the same result. When you open it again, it  is showing all the old data unlike regular Avare which starts fresh each time you open the program.
The only way I can get X to start with a fresh screen is to reboot my device. Again regular Avare works just fine and starts fresh each time it's opened.  Are you saying this is this normal  for "X" ??

I don't know what kind of tablet you have so my comment may not work.  All my electronics are Samsung. My phone is a Samsung S24. I have 3 controls at the bottom of my screen. Left is "III", center is a "0" and right is a "<"  If I want to close AvareX I hit the "<" and hit "YES" to close the app.  However, as you say, it's still running in the background. Hit "III" and all the running background stuff is there.  press the "Close all" button at the bottom and everything goes away.  When I restart AvareX it loads with a clean sheet.  The route I had programmed prior has disappeared.  Hope this helps.

Thanks for your reply. You are correct the left button "III " on my Samsung phone will close all the open apps.  The issue here I have discovered is apparently some tablets (mine included) don't have all the same 3 function buttons at the bottom. The third button on mine is a square and it functions to switch between apps instead of closing them. So bottom line, there is no way to directly close the Avare X program for this tablet without restarting the device. This is a fairly new tablet and I'll have to live with this I guess.  Again, appreciate the reply which helped motivate finding the troubleshooting. Cheers!

SOLUTION: If you have a similar tablet, the Avare X app can be closed from the switch screen by swiping upwards.
