Version 114 of AvareX, recommended tablets

This version fixes some bugs and adds optimizations that allow the app to run on older devices.

However, higher end tablets are recommended. Anyone who does not want to upgrade can keep using the legacy app.

Weather layer, and vector map layer is the most resource hungry so keeping them off helps tremendously.

iPad air 5th generation can run all layers sinultaneously without any lags. It can be bought used for around $270.

Agree, Mike.

I ordered the X72 back in March and went months waiting for delivery.  In the end, I finally emailed them and told them my needs, and they said the X7 would also fit the bill.  I had an X7 delivered within a week.

What made me nervous about the X7 was that it was advertised as a 'drone control' and I thought maybe it was all hard-wired and lacked BT/wifi.  There are come minor differences:  5G, possibly a  better processor, bigger battery all on the X72.  As they pointed out tho, all are 7" screen, 2600 nits and the X7 is lighter and thinner (and $300 less).  Either way, they are both great tablets!

I had not seen this comparison chart anywhere, but they sent it and I figure I'd add it here.

Thanks for sharing! I have read about initial problems with deliveries. This may have been shortly after the Kickstarter phase when everything was still brand-new. When I ordered the X72, it arrived within a week or so.

I had a look at the X7 and X70 as well, but the X72 has the superior aviation-grade GPS chip, which was a must for me. Aside, I like that the X72 has more charging options, the bezel is much smaller and the tablet itself is lighter. Well, not as light as the X7, but still. Very happy with it so far.

Yeah, my initial order was back in the early days (4 March) and I just kept getting responses to my queries that "a new production just came in and we will be shipping yours next week."  I'm sure it was chaotic to do such a launch, as popular as it was, so I'm not really complaining.  When they offered the X7 and confirmed the specs, I was happy to change.  I use a stratus (for position also), so my only requirement was the wifi.  My older tablet was 8" and I would have preferred larger, but brightness was the main thing.  

Back when I ordered, the 4g X72 was only $550 vs $500 for the X7, so price really wasnt a factor.  They seem a little disorganized, but I'm not really sure they are set up to be a primary seller.  Great engineering, needs work on follow-through.  In the end it all worked out, and I pretty much forgot about the $50 refund until it showed up 6 weeks or so later....
