Is 0.54 really the latest version for Raspberry Pi?  I always seem to have trouble navigating GitHub, so I'm never quite sure I'm in the right place.  I'm running Ubuntu on the Pi, but AvareX isn't coming up in the SNAP store.  Maybe because its the ARM version of Ubuntu?

We stopped building rpi because of no indication of use

I use raspberry pi with stratux.  It works well with Avare but not so well with AvareX

Shame on me for not looking, but is there a wiki or something to build a later version on RPi?
I retired 2 weeks ago, and am looking forward to finally playing with this. I envision an RPI powered avarex powered map system installed in a KMD150 or MX20 "frame" for panel mount homebuilt installations. There is a lot of room in these boxes for all of the hardware, and with additional HDMI output, round screens could also be used to declutter some of the data, like traffic.
@ bvo...  I also feel like my stratux box seems to play better with original Avare. (but that is a different issue than the OP question)
Note that there were previous mentions that original AVARE will steal the datastream from AVAREX if opened first. Only one iteration can be run AFIK

No issues, will start building again for rpi. It's automatic but upload is not.

I have been hoping to go the rpi route, but haven't had the time to pursue it. So here's a vote of interest, for what it's worth.
