I just tried to update the database and charts in Avare on my Samsung tablet and got the message "Download Failed: databases, code unable to download the file form this cycle". Update worked fine on my phone. The tablet is running Android version 5.1.1. Any ideas of what the problem might be?

Richard, the problem is the version of Android.  Version 5.1.1 is over 10 yrs old and is no longer supported by Google and can't connect to the appstore.  With that said you maybe running into problems with encryption levels as the old version of Android doesn't support the current encryption requirements.

You can try switching to the other chart server, in Avare try "bubble.org" as this server does not require encryption to download the charts.  Also make sure you are running a version of Avare that supports the "regionalized" charts, I think that requires Avare 11.0.1, anything older won't be able to read the current chart format.
