I've been using avare for probably close to 10 years now, and am very satisfied with it,
but there's always room for a little improvement......
Its a PITA to try to look up the correct freq to use for center or approach, esp when you're away from your home territory.
I was wondering if any thought has ever been given to adding an ATC tab to the "nearest" page.
My old garmin 196 (which I retired years ago in favor of a tablet with Avare) had this feature, & it was very useful.

I agree this would be very helpful to know nearest approach, center etc.  Nearest TFR and nearest class B, C, and D airspaces if it doesn't do that already.

TFR's are displayed on the map if you select TFR's on the download menu.
And class b/c/d are displayed on the map.

I have IFR low enroute charts loaded just for finding nearest center frequencies. It is a bit of a pain, but at least the info is there.

I'll have to download the low IFR charts.
Thanks for the tip!

I downloaded the low-IFR charts....unfortunately I can't make heads or tail of it.
But getting the local center freq off the approach plates for nearby airports looks like it'll work out great.
For what it's worth, Washington State DOT-Aviation Division puts out an airport guide which includes a map of SEA Center freq's. (see pic)
I carry the guide in my airplane but downloaded a pic of the map into my tablet for easy look-up.

On low IFR enroute chart, center frequency boundaries are marked with a line made of 90 degree bends.
Center frequencies are in boxes with same boundary and are near where the RCO antenna is.

I see those freq's now, but that chart has so much going on that finding them is like trying to pick the fly shit out of the pepper....
esp while flying along, maybe in turbulence.
I did download the chart but dunno if I'll refer to it very often.

Agreement on difficulty of finding frequencies... I pick frequencies off chart during preflight when I want to pick up Center following while enroute.
