I've been playing around with Tracks in Avare, and wanted to share the
simple way I load them into gMaps for exploration back on the ground.
The same basic method works for gEarth and has more features, but gMaps
is good enough for me. I prefer managing and transferring files offline
to my PC directly, so in Avare I set Preferences > Flight Tracking >
Auto Track Post (None). In flight I turn on Tracks in Avare, and it
auto-closes the Track in a time-stamped file when I exit Avare.

When there's a track I'd like to re-visit I turn on Bluetooth on the
Android and PC. I use a File Manager app to transfer the Track(s) of
interest to the PC. On my Android S4 phone the files are in "Internal
Storage" > com.ds.avare > Tracks and I send them to the Downloads folder
on my PC.

Then I open Firefox on the PC and use my bookmark for the GPS Visualizer
website:
http://www.gpsvisualizer.com/

In the Get Started box I click the Browse... button and select the track
file from my Downloads folder. Note that the website's "output format"
has already defaulted to gMaps. I click Map it, and a gMaps box opens
on the website with my track (screencap attached).

Sometimes I also click the Download link, so I can then load that file
into Firefox to explore the track in a full-screen window rather than
the website's inset box. It can also be handy to have that file stored
on my PC in case it's of interest later.

My process is to post the tracks file to my email address. I can send in real time or when I'm connected to Wi-Fi later. From there I simply open the email attachment which defaults to gEarth on my device or PC. When I'm done reviewing, I save the attachment to my flight docs folder and name it according by to the flight with a date stamp. I love having this capability.

I also use the mail feature, and CC my passenger so they can replay the flight.

Next release will have tracks turned on automatically when you start the app (an option) so you will not have to remember turning them on before flight. Thanks
