Google Apps Market Place Gmail Backup

Hi guys, I need to create an app for Google Apps Marketplace where I have to build something like Backupify.com or Spanning.com so that user can backup the email of their Google Apps Domain. I have been looking into the Gmail APIs (IMAP) using oauth2 for PHP and also followed the simple tutorial of Google Apps Calendar using SSO, but then I haven't got a clue how I could glue it all together for the app I need. I have been stumbling on this thing for more than a week now and I would appreciate any help to point me to the right direction. Thanks alot.
