This amazing demo does basically the same thing application as Kinect Fusion, realtime 3D reconstruction of a scene with texture mapping, except using a conventional RGB camera instead of a Kinect:

The system tracks enough points in the image to reconstruct the 3D geometry of the scene as well as the orientation and position of the camera.

the really exciting thing about this is that it's scale independent (unlike the kinect).

that means you should be able to take a '3d scan' of an entire building facade just as easily as a miniature scene.

but where is the code? this video was posted last june :(

Brekel's stuff is usually Windows-only as I believe this is.

I would be super psyched to see some get up and running with PCL in OF and would be down to help in any way I can.
