The rumors on Engadget, CNET, and a few other sites yesterday is that the new Microsoft Surface WinRT tablet will priced at $199 and that includes a 10.6" tablet with 32g space with a hdmi, usb2, and microSD connectors. This will be out on October 26th.

I personally don't like the nooks design.

I'm pretty sure if that iPad mini comes out the base model will be $200. We should find out in September if Apple releases the mini.

I think that the Surface won't sell well at the iPad ($500) price point, but that $200 price makes it way more attractive. I'm sure that'll make all their OEM partners upset. They may be able to pull off a similar strategy they did with Xboxes selling at a loss.

I agree that it would be smart to sell them at a loss like the Xbox. It makes sense. Bob Familar had said it was just a rumor until I pointed out all the sites saying it. His reply then was "interesting".

As for MSDN, I have not seen it up yet.
