A creepypasta is a horror-related legend which has been shared around the Internet.[1][2][3] The term creepypasta has since become a catch-all term for any horror content posted onto the Internet.[4] These entries are often brief, user-generated, paranormal stories intended to scare readers. The subject of creepypasta varies widely and can include topics such as ghosts, murder, suicide, zombies, rituals to summon paranormal entities and haunted television shows and video games.[1] Creepypastas range in length from a single paragraph to extended multi-part series that can span multiple media types.[4]
The definition of creepypasta has expanded over time to include most horror stories written on the Internet.[13] Over time, authorship has become increasingly important: many creepypastas are written by named authors rather than by anonymous individuals.[13]
Numerous short films, games, feature length films and merchandise have been produced based off creepypastas, such as Always Watching: A Marble Hornets Story, Slender Man and Beware the Slenderman. In addition to merchandise and film adaptations, numerous amounts of fan content and independent settings/mythos have been established from creepypastas, such as with the SCP Foundation, the Backrooms and The Mandela Catalogue, with the prior serving as an example of the creepypasta descendant subgenre, analog horror.
Jeff the Killer is a story accompanied by an image of the title character. In the story, a teenager named Jeff is on his way to school with his younger brother when they are attacked by a group of bullies. Jeff defends himself and his brother and leaves the assailants lying in the street beaten, their hands and arms broken. After his brother claims he injured the bullies and is arrested, Jeff spends several days distraught, before going to a birthday party in the neighborhood where he is attacked by the bullies again. Although he manages to kill all of the assailants, he is severely burned during the confrontation after being set on fire. During a stay at the hospital, Jeff realizes that he enjoys harming people, and goes insane. The night after he is discharged, he slices his face, leaving a scar in the shape of a smile, and cuts off his eyelids, so that he will never sleep. He then murders his parents and brother, whispering "go to sleep" while killing his sibling. He becomes a serial killer who sneaks into houses at night and whispers "go to sleep" to his victims before killing them.[20]
These creepypastas tell of people, usually a teenager, becoming a psychopath or killer, often involving a trademark disfigurement due to the effects of a bad childhood, accident, bullying, experiment gone wrong, or supernatural menace.[30] Similar in content to slasher films and splatter films.
I loved the game! It brings out a very interesting concept which diverts from the original Jeff the Killer creepypasta - of Liu being alive and sane - and I really enjoyed it. The old-style graphics add to the horror theme and Jeff's murdering animations are sick. Would you ever consider making a Eyeless Jack themed game? :)
He is an adolescent serial killer and registered Creepypasta. He was disfigured after being set on fire while fighting a gang of bullies and lost his sanity after witnessing his "new" and "beautiful" face.
When Jeff woke up, he was at the hospital and his head was wrapped in bandages. When the bandages were taken off, it was revealed that his face had become disfigured and ghastly pale from the burns, with bright red lips and a leathery texture. Jeff said that he liked his face this way and laughed hysterically, but the doctor foolishly thought that this insanity was merely a side effect of the painkillers and let Jeff go home.
Another popular expansion is "Homicidal Liu" created by DeviantART user VampireNote13, a story about Jeff's brother Liu surviving his encounter with Jeff in the Creepypasta and developing a split-personality, becoming a serial killer himself and contemplating whether to get revenge on Jeff or spare him. The expansion also claims that Liu is the older brother, even though it was never stated in the actual Creepypasta itself which sibling was the oldest. This expansion was also the origination of the last name "Woods" as Liu is named "Liu Woods" in the expansion. Even though the creator made the story as a "what-if" scenario for a role-playing group, and even acknowledged that Liu dying may have been canonical, a majority of the fanbase took her expansion as canon.
(NOTE: killerjeff's YouTube channel has been terminated due to his violations of YouTube's community guidelines, which took the video down with it. When questioned, his response was that his account was taken down due to the disbelief of him being the original creator of the Jeff the Killer character. Fortunately the video was re-uploaded by a YouTube user called PhenomenonPoltergeist, however, the original audio was not kept, which was the song I Guess You're Right by the Posies playing in the background for a majority of the video. Later on, YouTube user Bob's Brother would come in to re-upload the video with its original audio.).
The earliest confirmed sighting of the image was on 16 November 2005, on a Japanese message board named pya.cc along with another image that Sesseur also posted, where he claimed that the alternate version was his original design concept. Sesseur's earliest known internet presence was 14 August 2008 where he made a Newgrounds account called "killerjeff" where he acted as if he were Jeff. The original Jeff the Killer video was uploaded on 3 November 2008.

This is the worst story I have ever read in my entire life. I do not understand how this got so populair. I get scared easily, like some of the stories here make me cry bc they r that scary. But this, this was hilarious, ridiculous, a pathetic attempt at writing horror. I do not understand how anyone can find this even the slightest bit creepy. This is crap.

For the most part i can agree. But jeff did not however do that to Liu. And what about their sister Rika? No ackowledge ments of her either. In fact, liu changed dramatically from juvy, he himself was like jeff when he came home. And Rika was like jeff from witnising her brother be dragged away by police and the other kill people.
