What’s Crackin’ ADI!
Hope you’re as excited for Thanksgiving as we are! This year has had its ups and downs, but ADI would like to give thanks for all its friends, families, and for the wonderful Hacker Community that is developing at Columbia. In addition, we’ve thrown ourselves into a our next big event TechCulture which all of you should be getting excited for, (because I mean, we are PUMPED, flexing our coding fingers and all that jazz). Also, we are starting the process of converting our old Facebook Group to our new Facebook page, so make sure you like our new page! Also, follow us on twitter@adi_cu!

ADI EVENTS
1. Hacker Office Hours Tuesday, 11/22, 10–11 pm in Lerner 569 Come with anything you want to hack on! If you want help with a technology, come and get help on your project from people who are more experienced, or if you're already experienced, come share your knowledge and find collaborators!
2.ADI Holiday Party Thursday, 12/1 8:30 - 11:30pm in the CS Lounge Come out and join ADI for drinks, deserts, talk tech, and meet Columbia alums working in startups! We'll have egg nog, apple cider, cake, cookies, and pastries to set the mood at this great opportunity to meet our members, upperclassmen, and Columbia alumni to talk about startups, programming, how to get involved in Columbia's fast growing developer community, or anything else you're interested in!
We'd love to answer any questions you have about classes and discuss the benefits of making a hobby or major out of computers. You'll also learn about our upcoming tech workshops where we teach you programming languages, how to setup a website and much more!
Better yet, with the holidays approaching, but finals in the way, we're here to have a good time. Everyone's welcome to attend! Bring a friend and we'll see you there! Check out the Facebook Event Page.
3. TechCulture Saturday, 12/3, 11am – 3pm in the CS Lounge Open source: Denoting software for which the original source code is made freely available and may be redistributed with or without modification. Curious about open source initiatives, what they are, how to get involved, and how to use them? Come to TechCulture, where James Socol, a developer from Mozilla will introduce you to the open source community, we'll help you get set up with Linux, help you learn how you can take advantage of open source technology on campus, and feed you!

1. TED X Columbia Engineering Tuesday, 11/29 9AM-5PM in Miller Theater Columbia University's independently organized TED event - will bring to light ideas worth spreading. A day filled with presentations by some of the foremost minds will seek to spark conversation, thought and productive exchange among bright intellectuals who participate. From organic chemistry to economics, and from engineering to entertainment, the talks will highlight areas that are at the frontiers of innovation today.
