My experience. I have always wanted to stay "current." I had a shop
across the I-205 Bridge install Snow Leopard for me. Programs kept
crashing after that, including Mac Mail. A couple of calls to
AppleCare improved that situation somewhat. The Help was in India. I'm
hard of hearing and have trouble understanding those deep accents. Now
it works but programs have changed behavior . . . and not for the
better, in my opinion. Just for a small "for instance," computer
volume and alerts volume goes back down to almost nothing when
computer is shut down. I go to System Preferences and bring volume
back up and all is well with the volume until the next shutdown and
restart. My purpose in sending this to you is not to ask for help but
to advise you not to rush out and buy Snow Leopard, as I did. Give it
a little time for Apple to come up with "fixes" before you purchase a
copy. And, even then, you might be purchasing a program that came out
before a "fix," one that has been sitting on the shelf or was shipped
before changes.
