I setup this camera (Escam QD520) on a little test network in an attempt to figure out why it isn't working.
Here's what I've found:
Under power, the heatsink becomes very hot. Untouchably hot.
Additionally, randomly a definite <click> sound occurs. Reminds of the sound of a magnetic relay flipping. Occurs after several minutes under power; sometimes several times in a minute.
The external power supply tests out at the 12v it advertises.
As my electronics skillset is pretty novice and whatever is wrong with it is not obvious to me, I'm going to give up on it and call it a heat-death.
Unless someone else wants to have a look at it, I'll discard it.
