Hi, my name is Borys Tymchenko.
I am Master's student in Software Engineering from Odessa National Polytechnic University.
I'm basically focused on robotics, however, my interests spread widely. It made me develop ability to dig into hard-written scientific papers.
I'm proficient with C++ (with STL and/or Qt), embedded C and low-level optimizations (thanks robotics). Also, I know Java a little (but only a little).
I'm also familiar with Git and Github but prefer Bitbucket.
As part of work in Luxoft CVNAR project, I used to use its coding style (and also had code reviews there).
I've found Appleseed at GSoC website, browsed through project ideas and found out that I want to contribute to Project #19.
This project looks really cool, I've got impressed by images in the algorithm description.
It also looks really hard and I like tough problems - easy ones are just not interesting.
It's hard to understand everything in this project at first glance but I've already started to read first article (samples are pretty nice).
As to me, there is nothing impossible in any task; and provided with good bulk on scientific papers I will be able to solve it in time (and space).
Assuming everything goes well, I would like to be a mentor next year, it would be very ineresting prctice for me.
I've already built appleseed and now will look for easy-feature-to-implement.
Waiting for your reply,
Borys.
