Hello! My name is Alexandr Shcherbakov. I am from Russia. Now I am studying at Lomonosov Moscow State University, Faculty of Computational Mathematics and Cybernetics,
Graphics and Media Lab. I am interested in computer graphics, parallel computations and game development. I am currently working on Global Illumination in real-time rendering. I am developming optimization for radiosity method.
I did not contribute to open-source yet.
In my study I created a simple ray-tracer for rendering an accretion disk around a black hole. Also I wrote some simple demos on OpenGL.
I found appleseed in organization list on GSoC site.
I am proficient with C/C++ (with STL) and Python. Also, I have some experience with using Java, C# and JavaScript. For GPGPU and rendering I using OpenGL and OpenCL. Now I am learning CUDA.
I used Git and GitHub in my work and studying. I worked in Yandex and My.com and followed their coding guidelines. They had realy big repositories with large amount of code. My colleagues reviewed my code before every merge in master. I reviewed analysts' code in Yandex, and students' code.
I am interested in the following projects:
- Project 1: Resumable renders
- Project 2: IES light profiles
- Project 5: Adaptive image plane sampling
- Project 8: Switch to Embree
- Project 14: Python scripting
