Hi everyone!

My name is He Dejin. I am a senior student from Zhejiang University in China. My major is Computer Science and I am going to study at State Key Lab of CAD&CG in our college as a master student. I want to dig in Computer Graphics and Game Development in the future. Recently I start doing some research on VR and help to improve a real-time rendering engine developed by our lab.

Last summer I took an intern in a game development company, which is a phenomenal experience. I like the feeling of being in a motivated team and making something big together. Honestly speaking, I did not know appleseed before GSoC and haven't contributed to any open source community yet, but I am looking forward to being part of appleseed and making contributions to a rendering engine that produce such great results.

I am interested in project 1 and 2. Other projects also seems very interesting to me. As for programming, I am proficient in C/C++ and OpenGL. Also, I am familiar with version control tools such as Git and SVN.

Maybe it is a bit late to apply now but I still want to try. Hope that I can get the chance to make contributions to appleseed!

Hello!

Yes, it is a bit late to apply. Candidates need to complete a number of non-trivial tasks before we can consider their application, and the deadline being Monday, you will not have time to complete them.

That being said, you're more than welcome to join us on Slack (invite sent), meet the community and start contributing!

Franz
