Hi all especially Brain:

I lost the pairing between my i-Phone and Focus 14.  I had to use my wife to help me but she’s not very tech literate and has been that way…

The VO was on and when I got to Braille display, it stated that the Bluetooth was not turned on so we tried to get it on to no avail.  As per Brain’s suggestion in an earlier email, I went to blue tooth and tried to get it to work…strangely enough I had two choices which were to disconnect or forget the display.  We did not do anything.

So, any suggestions??  I am afraid that the Bluetooth of Focus 14 may be broken or something like that

Thanks so much for your help!!!!

Jeff

Hello Jeff,

I have the same experience when I had disconnect Iphone with Focus 14 and the bluetooth said to forget the device then pairing it again. No problem at all.

Sometimes it got the connect damaged so need to refresh to pairing to clear it up then it will be fine. Try that

JEFF,

RICH HERE.

I always have iphone pairing with varioultra 20.

when i turned on iphone woudl not pair vu20. i struggled and struggled. utnil something popped up in my mind as iu went to other room and checked chameleon 20 and found it pairing with iphone unexpectedly. it means chameleon stole pairing for vu20. darn it as i remember what blind tech teacher said to me how to have both brialle displays on and switch bakc and forth and turn off. so when i brought them to vu and turned vu on and leave alone. then i went to setting and went to vo and went to brialel and i went down  to the bottom and found both chameleon and vu20 . i clicked vu20 and turned off chameleon and vu20 was happy to be pairedf.and i put chameleon away as it was turn turned off, but i don't knwo how chameleon could steal pairing. sigh.

it is tricky.

sincerley,

rich

Hopefully you've resolved this issue by now, but if not this is what I would do.

Forget the device on the iPhone then reboot everything, I mean the
phone and the display. Turn on the display then go into accessibility,
braille on the phone. The display should now be showing as an option
under the heading choose a braille display.

I hope this helps.

to all,

rich  here.

yes, i follow this. it can happen unexpectedly. nio idea why. veryt weird.

i had my dear friend taking me out for shopping, and my iphone vibrated,
and i tried to get my vu20 pairing, but not working. i kept trying, then
i asked my friend who understands about problem. she checked and she
went through settingand went to accessiblity and went to vo, ten went to
brialle. she ran down and said chameleon is on. i said please switch to
vus0 and she did and it works.

it is veyr odd bechase chameleon was resting in other roomas it was off.
but how did the signal picking up to pair chameleon.  my friend and i
were ten miles form my home, and how did iphone act weird by trying to
pick up signal to chameleon ten miles away.

jeff, do you have siome other brialle displays near you? sometimes it
can steal signal to pair instead of your current brialle display. that
can corrupt like this as you might not realize how other brialle display
stealing. sigh.

sincerely,

rich

Rich,

I never heard of that issues as I know many people not have that issues except bluetooth issues sometimes. I have 3 Focus on my iphone and sometimes I leave 2 different Focus on my iphone one is plugged but not pairing or on it as I am using different focus to allow other Focus to be fulled charged before turn off. I always leave it on and never switch on it own. If I turn off focus to shut down iphone to refresh then it start connect same focus instead of other because it stays on default what I want. I had no issues till I want to changing I go there to switch. By me not on their own.

No one had the same issues as you. But they and I have issues of bluetooth because they saw Focus is still the same area where it is suppose to be connect. That is all.

Maybe you forgot to switch back to it before leaving. Who knows? It is impossible for the braille display to switch on it own without human person to order it and click to stay default. I never had that problem for several years. It never switch on it own
