Hello again,
as you know, I am arreally fan about Braille displays, because of this, I would like to ask you if in addition to this group, you know another mailing list or whats app group about Braille displays, in order to be informed about new devices, news, and for having she possibility to ask questions. I know Bdu mailing list, it is very good and but I had to unsubscribed because there were really a lot of messages, and I cannot be able to follow it. How is it now, how is now the trafic there?, and so, because of this, I would like to find something like here, with no so much trafic, mailing list or whats app group.
On the other hand, I would like to ask you if there are any list or whats app group about Apple world in English, with no so much trafic.
Someone talk me about ag international whats app group called Braille Display and keybords, but I dont have any reference about it, do you know something regrding it?.
Many thanks in advance, as I said for me is very important that there is not so much trafic.
Many thanks in advance.
María

Hello Marc,

I totally understand that you had to unscribe due too high volume but it is always ups and downs. It is important that you look at subject that interest you to read or delete it. I always look at subject to delte then left over to read or nothing. It wasn’t too bad for few days as it was low then can go up high then low. I don’t know anything about other list but i heard it is very highest than you were on before. They say they recieved over one thousand e mails per week which is worst than you were on in the past.

You can set bdu to digest mode to cut down the number of messages.
There is A list called paperless braille displays, but it is about dead I think.
Www.applevis.com is the main site for blind apple heads, including us braille users.

Hi Barbara, Brian and all,
many thanks for your messages, please, c if you know, Brian, could you give me the adress of that list (paper less) taht youy talk about, or the moderator’s address?, I would like to write them, for knowing if is died or not completely.
I hear about that whats app group (Braille displays and devices) and I wanted to know something more about it.Regarding BDUmore than 1000 messages in a week, that is really too much, even reading only the subjects, is really enough for me.
The thing that I liked more in that list was when they talk about new things (new devices. etc.) as here in this list (I like it very much) there are subscribes people who are there as well, if there are important infos etc. it would be great if they share those infos here.
Regarding Applevis, yes, I know it, the problem, in my opinion, is that as it’s a forum and not a list, eery time that you want to know or to ask someting, you have to go into de site, etc. etc. and so, I tink it’s slow and not really confortable, I prefer a mailing list (I think it’s faster) or a whats app group, but anyway, manhy thanks for the info, Brian.

Hello Marc,

No BDU is low but another list I was on like DBT is 1,000 e mail a week so I had to unsubscribe as I can’t keep that up by deleted alot but BDU is not bad sometimes five e mails a day or ten e mails a day. I find it easy to delete by looking at subject only if I want to read or not. I hope that is clear. BDU never go up to 1,000 a week or the owneer will complain and people will complain as they don’t like it. i am glad they have policy for it.

It is a listserv list. It's been so long since I fooled with listserv I forget the commands,
But you can do it all byemail. Try sending the word help in the subject and body Of an email.
The list address is

PB...@listserv.icors.org

Hello Brian and Marc,

I am on Pbd and it is very quiet there for long time and very fewest people there. I believed it will not beneiit you at all.

The BDU is the list list for you that I am on. It is not bad volume as it is quiet today with few posts from DBU today. It is just ups an ddowns but remember using the delete key when you look at subject which you want or didn’t want to read. That helps me reduced of reading it.

Good luck.

Barbara

Lenore here.

DeafBlind Techies list has become really quiet these days. Not too many posts not like there were a few years ago.
