Season’s Greetings All:

I want to ask this question before I respond to Barbra’s response to my email.

I must have accidentally typed text into a text field that is now stuck all over my iOS.  I don’t know how to term this issue but I will give you a few examples where I find the same junk text.  When I am supposed to see a blank like, I see this text.  It also appears on many links; however, I know this has nothing to do with Verbose which I have clocked on “do nothing”, etc.  Another example when I open an email, instead of the actual text in Subject:, I see this junk text.

I know I can’t figure out how to google to remove the text.  If none of you know the answer, I will contact Apple Accessibility for help.  This is very annoying and is actually worse than seeing “Action Available”.  When Braille WAS used in Verbose before I changed it, I would see both of these annoying texts.

Many thanks in advance.

Best,

Jeff

A very similar thing happened to me. The “junk text,” “Record audio,” is sprinkled all over IOS in multiple applications. I don’t use a Braille display much, so I’ve just gotten used to hearing “record audio,” at the oddest times. If you figure out how to fix this once and for all, please do let me know. I also tried going through Verbosity settings and setting most of the boxes to “do nothing,” but it didn’t totally fix it.

I would fiddle around with that actions setting in verbosity.
try setting it to change pitch or something that will not bother you.

Record audio is a feature, not a but. Smile
You can double tap that button and sing some opera for us.

Oh trust me, you would *NOT!* like it if I did that. :)

However, in this case, the “record audio,” feature belongs to Messages. The text, “record audio,” for example appears alongside the subject line, “RE: Cleaning out junk stuck in IOS.” It’s got nothing to do with whether or not the option to record audio exists.

Wow that *is* weird. And this persists after you reboot your phone?

Not only after I reboot or turn off my phone, but it even persisted after I backed up my iPhone 8 to my new iPhone XR. Yes, that’s right, it migrated to my new phone with me!

Brian:  I think your response would work for someone who hear but not for those who use Braille only. When I first updated to iOS, I was   annoyed with seeing the term of “Action Available “all over. The sweet Barbara told me what to do as in Verbose it was checked “Braille” so I went in and checked “Do Nothing” which worked. Even if I changed the pitch as you suggested, I would still see the texting Braille.  Your suggestion might work for Mark Baxter, however.

Thanks, Jeff

Nope. I already did this, and it didn’t work. *grin*
