I am facing following error when clicked on Launch button:

> Starting Node Server
> debug: Starting Appium in pre-launch mode
> info: Pre-launching app
> debug: Using local app from command line: C:\AndroidSDK\sdk\build-tools\android-4.4W\LAT.apk
> info: Starting android appium
> debug: Creating new appium session 943db7a0-f72f-4ebd-b65c-2a461e9cd949
> debug: Using fast reset? true
> debug: Preparing device for session
> debug: Checking whether app is actually present
> debug: Checking whether adb is present
> debug: Sent shutdown command, waiting for UiAutomator to stop...
> warn: UiAutomator did not shut down fast enough, calling it gone
> debug: Cleaning up android objects
> Node Server Process Ended

What could be the reason for this error?

I also get the same message for Automation Name as Appium.

My settings:

Application Path: XYZ.apk

Package: com.package.name

Launch Activity: .LoginActivity

Platform Name: Android

Platform version: 4.4 KitKat (API Level 19)

Automation name: Appium

Device Name: emulator-5554 (this is for Nexus 5 device)

Server Address: 127.0.0.1

Port: 4723

Check For Updates and Pre Launch Application checked.

If I change the Automation name to Selendroid with all other settings intact, I get the following error:

> Starting Node Server

> debug: Starting Appium in pre-launch mode

> info: Pre-launching app

> debug: Using local app from command line: C:\Users\rumit.patel\projects\Basis\dropbox\BasisAndroidMiG-v1.0.0-b4.apk

> debug: Creating new appium session fcb8b6cc-0e1c-48cf-9a4b-6b21238ea68e

> debug: Starting selendroid server

> Node Server Process Ended

Can somebody help?

Rumit

This seems like a bug. Can you raise an issue on GitHub for the Appium-dot-app project (https://github.com/appium/appium-dot-app/issues/new)? Include as much information as you can about reproducing it.

Not sure if this is bug with Appium, however, it seems Appium is not able to pick the Android SDK path from the environment variables (Path for Windows). I had to give the Android SDK path in the Appium settings and it worked for me.
