Appium android inspector doesnt load the hierarchy

Hey ,

Im using Appium on 4.2 Android . The appium inspector post launching shows the screenshot but not the Element hierarchy . 

The logs indicate :

debug: transferPageSource command: "/Users/vikasn/android-sdk-macosx/platform-tools/adb" -s C4F12FA0D3C6E5E pull /data/local/tmp/dump.xml "/var/folders/xz/p1db8vpd6c9dclxpy56ynk300000gp/T/114024-37578-1vjcift.xml"

warn: remote object '/data/local/tmp/dump.xml' does not exist

When I run the adb shell command : ./adb shell uiautomator dump /data/local/tmp/view.xml, [UI hierarchy is dumped to: /data/local/tmp/view.xml]

it dumps the XML tough . 

Is anyone else facing this ? - Any suggestions ?

Yes uiautomatorviewer just works fine .

Is there a way to force Appium inspector to use the hierarchy.xml file pulled out manually via ADB ?

using this command ?

  ./adb shell uiautomator dump /data/local/tmp/view.xml

Yes UiAutomator viewer works fine .

Hope you tried this already? I was sitting on this for almost a month to figure it out

If you app is using CompressXML did you try to enable this capabilities in appium before you launch the inspector?

(you have do this from CLI and then use remote server option)
