Hi Everyone,

I'm using objective C to generate test scripts in appium. I'm completely new to Automation testing. Please let me know the following ASAP as i can't go further without knowing answers to the same:
1. Where are the test scripts saved generated during recording via appium inspector?
2. How can i play the recording later?
3. How can i generate Test Report for the results after playing the app after recording?

Please respond ASAP.

Thanks,
Meenal

It' Much easy if you use Java, You can write your own scripts without depending on recording. using selenium webdriver

> 1. Where are the test scripts saved generated during recording via appium inspector?

They're not.

> 2. How can i play the recording later?

You can't. You need to copy and paste the code into an environment where the code can be run. You're responsible for writing and running the test scripts--that's not a part of Appium. Appium exposes an automation API.

> 3. How can i generate Test Report for the results after playing the app after recording?

That will be part of whichever test runner you choose to use.

Appium GUI recording can be considered as your reference. Don't depend on it too much!

1. Once scripts were generated, you copy/paste to a file.
2. I used Ruby first to play my test script, as it only needs "rspec mytest.rb" to run on Mac. Now I transfered test scripts into C# in Visual Studio on my windows laptop. You can create a console application to run it.
3. The reason I use C# is because my manager wants to see result in MTM.   It is a complicate process and I am still working on it.  In Ruby, I used "puts" to output my each step for debugging.

Hi All,

I need to automate my iOS app that is written in Objective-C through XCode. So,Where can i write my test scripts for this. Will Ecllipse work for my purpose or not? I doubt if Ecllipse work for the app written in objective-C.
Can Xcode be used for this purpose? If both can be used then Which one is better or there any other better option?
Can anyone suggest me anything that suites my needs?

Thank you all to cooperate me!!!
Please respond ASAP.

Regards,
Meenal
