thanks for the bug reports and patches, Tim!

Tim was an early beta tester for the python dsniff, which still isn't
out yet. so it goes.

we really need an appid test rig. any takers? :-)

Thanks for the intro Dug... and once again, thanks for spending a
little time with me even in the job transition phase. :)

What about the stuff mentioned in HACKING? tests/appid

on the topic of the HACKING file... it mentions rlcodegen in the hints
section, but based on issue 4, rlgen-cd is required. That should get
updated as well.

are you wanting the unit tests in c? any chance of getting
tests/appid.c into the gcode repo?

I need to find some time to look at this..

it's got foundation and pcap dependencies we don't want.

i can write one pretty trivially in python, but i think a C example
might be best?

jono's got a wireshark patch, and we still need to look into tcpdump and pf...

It might use a container or two, but I don't recall it relying too
heavily on foundation.

It appears to rely on:
hash.h -> for hash_iter, hash, pair_t, etc, container_foreach, etc.
fmt.h -> for fmt_print(), duh
lib/utils.h (trivially for TRUE/FALSE only).

Have we gotten anywhere on this? Having a test suite would be nice
for the release dug is pushing.

Dug, do you have a moment to toss something quick together in python
to test this?

Is the dependencies mentioned here something that can be stubbed
quickly and is arbor willing to "donate" the appid-test.c stuff they
have?

Tim
