hey guys,

we really need to get a release out. if i don't hear back from anyone
by next week, i'll just put the results of 'make dist' up for
download, to get a stake in the ground, and notify the openbsd pf,
tcpdump, and wireshark folks.

i dunno if anyone else noticed, but Nir Zuk's new gig launched a while
ago, and surprise surprise - they've filed patents for (and
trademarked) "App-ID":

I'd like to see a release go out soon as well. It's far from perfect,
but maybe we can get some momentum on this and make it better.

Also of note, has anyone looked at making an iptables match processor
for this? If so, care to share your code? It would be an interesting
alternative to l7filter.
