Is it possible using Titanium to capture system audio ("what-you-
hear") via the audiorecorder. If not, using some other method?

On which platform?
The following works on iPhone, I am not sure if it works on Android it at the moment it didn't used to, but I haven't been following developments.
If not, you may be able to code it in Java and include.
