Ahoy all,

Does Appcelerator currently have a roadmap or documentation or anything on getting a Titanium Desktop app into the Mac App Store?

The biggest fear for me is piracy.
On iOS Apple solves the piracy issue with digital signatures and by locking down the entire OS.
On Mac OS X that's not going to happen.
People will still be able to find the app and right click to open the package and then steal all the sweet sweet JavaScript innards.

Of course I also have all the same boring concerns that we did at first on iOS…
Will Apple accept Titanium apps?
What is the process for making your app conform to the guidelines?
How does Appcelerator help in this regard?
etc…

Good questions.

The App Store is something we've been expecting for about 9 months now and we're excited about it.  We think this is going to allow us to invest more heavily in desktop - something we'll be talking about soon.

We are planning on supporting this heavily and don't anticipate any major issues with Apple.

Hi,
I was asking myself the same questions yesterday! Interested in
answer too! But let me doubt a bit...

I would also be interested in a solution for piracy issues!

we are *likely* going to be moving desktop closer to the mobile architecture for compiling the code so that would resolve that specific issue.

It would be great!

Any ETA for Titanium (desktop and mobile) roadmap update?

Any chance of getting JSCocoa support into Titanium Desktop?
That way you could be able to use JS to draw native Cocoa widgets ala Titanium Mobile.

But ofc there's no way to make that work cross-platform.
Maybe the marketing solution there would be to start a separate Titanium Mac project or something that is closer to the Titanium Mobile architecture.
