Installing Using ROOT account

I just visited the appcelerator site and really impressed. But
disappointed that you need to have root account to install it on linux
machine and u know in real development environment you rarely have
anything near to 'root' account. Is there any other way to get things
done in appcelarator.

you shouldn't be required to install as root unless you choose the default location under /usr/local I thought. if you change the install location to your home directory for example you should be able to install as user permission.
