I want to work with the latest PHP SDK from SVN. But when I try to
build it on Linux/Ubuntu, I get this:

rake php
rake aborted!
no such file to load -- zip/zip

Is there a trunk or tag that already contains the latest ready-to-go
PHP SDK revision (e.g. all the "web" + PHP stuff)? I couldn't find the
appcelerator.js anywhere...

And if one is working only with the Accelerator "local" features, the
appcelerator.js is probably the only thing that is required to get
going. Is there a hosted or CDN version of the latest appcelerator.js?

Yea, we're in the middle of moving a bunch of files around and re-doing the build in SVN head right now.  It's going to be a few more days before it's stable again.

If you'd like to use SVN head for PHP files, just take the files from src/php and copy them into your project for now. Unless you need the new JS files, then you'll need to wait a few more days. Sorry.

We are going to be pushing the files so they can be accessed externally (JS files, modules, etc) but we don't yet have that ready.  Looks of big distribution improvements in the works and will be available in the upcoming 2.1

Isn't there a direct download URL available for the latest JS? Or a
"latest revision" SDK direct download link like the current "GA" SDK
direct download link?

the latest on the website is the 2.0.2 (GA) version.

we currently don't have a nightly tarball of the source from head (yet).
