We've updated the App Inventor Java Bridge Library and we are introducing an experimental, alpha, incomplete version of App Inventor which includes the ability of generating Java code for the App Inventor apps you build.

If you'd like to use Android Studio to code  Android apps using the same Java Library used by App Inventor, check out: appinventor.org/jBridgeIntro.

If you'd like to check out the experimental version of App Inventor that has Java code generation, check out:

Please send bugs/feedback on all things concerning App Inventor Java Bridge to this Google group.

Thanks,

David Wolber, University of San Francisco Professor and Director of AppInventor.org and appinventortojava.com.

Thomas Oropeza, University of San Francisco student and lead developer of appinventortojava.com

Leonard Fernando, developer of appinventortojava.com.

Hi Professor,

I'm in my late 50's and I am enjoying teaching myself how to code using aI2.   I recently started spending a lot of time on your Java Bridge site and I have come across the following limitations / bugs for you and your team to address:

When creating Global variables my drop down screen to access them limits their use to only 15 names unlike the original ai2 which seems to have unlimited name capability.

When creating a text message for text to speech.  The message text continues to take up the screen space unlike the original ai2 which edits the size down if you are trying to use a long message announcement.

Would love to see the screen have the ability to resize the work area like ai2 can.

Thanks to you and your staff for all your hard work you've devoted to this project.

Hi martya,

We now have these issues tracked.

Thanks for being a beta user you are helping us move towards completing the project!
