Hello everybody!

does any of you have tried (or even succeeded) to run Apostrophe
authenticating with MS Active Directory? If not, does anyone have any
reason to believe it will not work?

I have a customer asking for Apostrophe based intranet, but it would
be better to have it authenticating with MS Active Directory they
already have in place.

Thanks in advance!

Regards,
Paulo

We have done that very successful with large organizations. Equally
related to sfGuard, I believe.

Yeah, you want to read up on ldap. I'll see if we have any sample code for AD from past projects kicking around.

I have not tried this plugin myself, but it looks like it might be an
off the shelf solution for what you want, since it apparently enhances
sfDoctrineGuardPlugin with Active Directory login support:

http://www.symfony-project.org/plugins/bhLDAPAuthPlugin

We've done this with custom code on various projects, but the plugin
sounds more pleasant.

Thanks!

On those projects have you also enabled your users to change passwords
and personal data stored in AD? I might need to do that as well.

@Paulo do me a favor and post what you find out, as LDAP / AD is a couple months away for me :D
