Dear Friends,

Praised be our Lord Jesus Christ, who sends his angels to guide and to guard us in this world!

 

We will meet this coming Sunday at 6:15pm in Burke Hall.  We are continuing with the study of the book of revelation in chapter 11ff.  We have moved from the opening of the covenant (the opening seals) to the proclamation of God's decrees (the trumpets) and are entering into a very dramatic part of the book.

 

The Avila society will meet on Oct. 20 at 6:15pm beginning in the church with the rosary and then meeting in Burke Hall.

 

The St. Gregory Guild will meet Sunday Oct. 20 at 7:30pm in the rectory.  We will discuss Lectio Divina and reading scripture.

 

Mark your calendars!!  We will have atrip to Mount St. Mary's seminary on Oct. 27th.  It will basically be an all day event and we will be back at 8pm.  More details to follow.

 

Theology on Tap will be meeting at O'Sullivan's near Clarendon every Monday this month at 7:00pm.  See the diocesan website for more details.

 

Also, I would like everyone to know about the local holy hours and confession times.  At St. Thomas More we have a holy hour with confessions every Thursday at 7:30pm.  St. Charles Borromeo has a holy hour and confession time with Fr. James Searby every Wednesday at 6:30pm.  Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and frequent confessions are staples of the Catholic spiritual life.
