Dear friends,

Here are a few announcements as we approach Laetare Sunday- reminding us that the purpose of Lent is to enter into the joy of our Lord at Easter.

Bible Study: Sunday March 30th, 6:15pm in Burke Hall

April 5 retreat from 8am-8pm.

Dinner for RCIA Students: April 14th: 7:15pm, Burke Hall

Canoe Trip: May 10th.  Mass at 8am in the Cathedral

Bible Study: Sunday March 30th, 6:15pm in Burke Hall
On March 30th we will gather to continue our study of the book of Daniel.  We will read chapter 7 together and consider the wisdom of the holy prophet.

Lenten Retreat
On April 5, the RCIA will hold their Lenten retreat.  Lent is for all of us a renewal of our baptismal commitment and thus a miniature refresher in the faith, almost a mini-RCIA.  If anyone would like to join the RCIA class on a retreat up to Emmittsburg MD, we have a few slots still open.  The retreat will be held mainly in silence with two talks and Mass.  The location is beautiful and includes the magnificent Basilica built in honor of St. Elizabeth Anne Seton.  Please let me know if you are interested in joining us.  It will be an all day event.

Dinner for RCIA Students: April 14th: 7:15pm, Burke Hall
Each year during lent various groups host dinners for the RCIA students in order to introduce the soon to be Catholics to the parish.  We will be serving pizza and will need some volunteers to help with drinks and salad/sides.  Please let me know if you are willing and able to join us for this event and if you are able to assist in bringing some food items.

Canoe Trip: May 10th.  Mass at 8am in the Cathedral
The diocesan canoe trip will launch with Mass from our Cathedral.  After Mass, those who are going will head out to the beautiful Shenandoah valley for the canoe trip.  More information will be forthcoming.  The event is hosted by the Diocese and sponsored by our parish.

May God bless each of you and I hope to see you soon.

Yours in Christ,
Fr. Weber
