Dear friends,
In the first place, thank you for all of your prayers and well wishing and thank you for all those who came to Mass on my birthday at the Basilica.  I am very blessed to be at St. Thomas and serve the Lord with all of you.

This coming Sunday (Jan. 5, 6:15pm), we'll wrap up our reflections on the Book of Revelation by focusing on the image of the Church as the Bride of Christ and Holy City of God, the New Jerusalem.  We'll draw from revelation as well as other parts of scripture to contemplate the image of the Church.

Please remember that every Thursday there is a Holy Hour at 7:30pm in St. Thomas More- it would be great if more folks could come!

Jan. 10 at 7:30pm at St. Mary's in Alexandria there will be a diocesan holy hour Alexandria followed with some social time.  I will be there to hear confessions and to hang out afterwards.

Jan. 19 please come to the 11am Mass & Brunch. We will meet in the parking lot after Mass to go out to brunch.

March 1 is the day for the Diocesan Women's conference, and March 8 is the Diocesan Men's conference.  You can find out more information from the Diocesan website under teh family life office: http://www.arlingtondiocese.org/familylife/family_life.aspx.  These are well worth attending!

Happy New Year to all of you.  May our Lord bless each of us that together we may grow in holiness and peace encouraging one another to be zealous for the house of the Lord.

God bless,
 fr. Weber

Dear friends,
May our Lord bless us this coming year and grant us the grace to love Him more perfectly and work to spread His kingdom.

In the first place, I've attached a short list of some good spiritual reading books.  All of us should take up some spiritual reading, humbling the intellect, learning from the masters, and assisting us with understanding the content of the faith.  Recently I began to read (for a third time) the Interior Castles by St. Theresa of Avila.

Sunday Jan. 12 we will begin the book of Daniel at our regular meeting at 6:15pm in Burke Hall.  Also, it is Brooke's birthday, and she has graciously invited everyone to come out after the meeting to celebrate with her.  The place has not been determined, although Chili's and outback have been suggested.

Also, a few of us will begin an outreach to the elderly on Saturday.  Please pray for us and this ministry, and please let me know if you would be interested in assisting in this outreach in the future.

May God bless you and I look forward to seeing you on Sudnay Evening, the feast of the Baptism of the Lord.

Dear Friends,
I forgot to mention that I will be leading the holy hour for the diocese this coming Friday.  It would be great to see some of you there if possible.  Usually folks hang out afterwards.  The talk will be on the Theresa of Avila and the Spiritual life.

God bless,
Fr. Weber
