Dear Friends,

This coming Sunday we will meet as the Avila Society and the St. Gregory Guild.  

The Avila Society will meet at 6:15pm on Sunday Sept. 15 in the church beginning with the rosary and confessions.  The presentation following the rosary will be on repentance.  Rev. Br. Peter Martyr Yungwirth, O.P., of the Dominican House of Studies will present a talk titled "Repentance and Confession: Untwisting the Patterns of Sin." Here is a brief description:

The sinful woman who wept at the feet of Christ presents a vivid image of repentance and forgiveness. This talk seeks to draw out how her repentance is a model for untwisting the patterns of sin in our own lives, and how the freedom she found in Christ is offered to each of us through confession. 

The St. Gregory Guild will meet on Sunday at 7:30pm Sept. 15 in the Rectory with a very similar topic: confession and renunciation of sin.
