Sunday Bible Study

Dear friends,

Praised to our Lord Jesus Christ who leads His flock in the way of peace.

In the first place I would like to ask for everyone's prayers for the service project that will take place on Saturday.  It is part of the Thanksgiving outreach that A Simple House does each year.  They do excellent work and I am very happy that we will be able to assist them.  

On Sunday we will have our Bible study meeting and I would like to conduct a short planning meeting.  In the past we have done these on the first Sunday of the month.  I would like to change this because I've been making monthly calendars with all the events with the young adult group.  Hence, the planning meeting can be the basis for the calendar. 

I hope that many of you will be able to come to the Bible Study and planning meeting.  Many of you have expressed a desire to serve the parish- and we can certainly do this!  It will take sacrifices to do so.  By God's grace let us die to self and live for Christ that many others will be able to know His love through our work.  The agenda for the planning meeting will include:

1) a report about the service with Simple House

2) A report from Aaron about the parish representatives meeting

3) Planning events for December: would anyone be interested in organizing a trip to see the Lord of the rings?  

4) service projects of visiting the elderly and possible continued work with Simple House

5) a look at the december calendar and website information

6) A brief reflection on how St. Francis of Assissi used the high priestly prayer of Christ.

The meeting should go quickly and will be based on an agenda.  If you come for the bible study, you do not need to stay for the planning meeting.  If you would like to add something to the planning meeting, please send me an email.  

Let us pray for one another and encourage one another in the footsteps of Our Lord and Savior, Christ the King.
