Region Awards: nominations are now open

It is that time of year again. Time to solicit nominations for the Region III Distinguished Service Key. The Region III Distinguished Service Key (R3DSK) is the highest award that a Region of Alpha Phi Omega may bestow upon a Brother. It is awarded for service given to the fraternity at the Regional level over
a period of time. The Region III DSK may be awarded by a 3/4 affirmative vote of the voting delegates of the Region. This vote may take place at a
Regional business meeting at a Region III Conference or the National Convention. I have attached a document with additional information.

 

Nominations must include:

 

* The name of the person being nominated.
* An explanation or rationale and for the nomination. This may be a list of the nominee's accomplishments, or positions held, as well as any other pertinent information.
* The name of the Brother making the nomination.

 

Due to the lateness of this notification, I am extending the usual deadline for nominations.

In order for the awarding of a Region III DSK to be considered at this year's Region III Conference, I must receive nominations by
Saturday, October 15th, 2011 . I will not accept any nominations received after 11:59pm EST on October 15th. You may send nominations electronically to me at dawn...@gmail.conm. If you would prefer to mail me your nomination, please contact me directly and I will provide you with a mailing address.

 

I strongly recommend that you send me the nominations electronically. If I do not receive a nomination before the deadline due to a post office issue, I cannot accept it.

 
In addition to the Regional DSK, we have another award that we periodically bestow here in Region III: The Jamie K. Noguchi Student Leadership Award. The purpose of this award is to recognize students whose leadership and participation has set an example in furthering Alpha Phi Omega in Region III, and whose service and friendship has promoted unity throughout the Region.

Nominations should include:

* The name of the person being nominated.
* An explanation or rationale and for the nomination. This may be a
list of the nominee's accomplishments, or positions held, as well as
any other pertinent information.
* The name of the Brother making the nomination.

Nominations for this award may be submitted via e-mail to me at dawn...@gmail.com up until 11:59pm on Saturday,October 15th. After that deadline, nominations may still be made from the floor at the Regional business meeting at the Region Conference on October 22nd.
