global unique identifier support

Hi All,

I see some mentions of rdf:about in the specification, but one thing
that would be nice is a standard way to put unique identifiers next to
concepts. In particular, I am thinking isbn for books and musicbrainz
id's for artists and tracks, etc. But I would think this goes quite
beyond that as I can see Airport Id's, FOAF hashes, uuid is for the
UPnP/DLNA spec items and EAN/UPC codes to be of interest.

The reason I find this important is to disambiguate things that have
the same name, but are actually different. Such as overlapping band
names, books with the same title, etc.

What are the recommended practices for this?
