Fair point.

FYI - Orange labs just demo'd me a service (by this lady: http://twitter.com/virginie) incorporating APML which is actually very well done.

Not dead, just abandoned and in need of some fresh leadership.

I was checking out the list of services using APML at
    http://groups.google.com/group/apml-public/web/services-supporting-apml
and most of the links are dead. I see that domains owned by Chris Saad
are either dead or are now owned by someone else. As far as I know,
the only thing you really can do with the APML format now is export
RSS feeds from FeedDemon. But once you export them, there's nowhere
else to import them or analyze them.

It was a good idea. But I guess it didn't catch on and folks moved on
to other things. It would probably be good if Chris or someone else
cleaned up all the dead links and anything else that refers people
from one site to another to find out more about the format.

I saw it, too.  The UI for editing your concept preference weights by manually increasing/decreasing the size of tags in a tag cloud was great.
