Dear Shri Reddy,

Greetings from Dharmasthala, Karnataka.

I was so happy to meet up with you at Ujire yesterday. I am sure the participants in the beautician training programme have immensely benefitted from your talk.

As I was discussing with you we are organising an international seminar at Bengaluru from the 30th October till 2nd November 2019, which includes a days field visit on the 30th morning followed by inaugural in the evening. This will be followed by two days of the conference ending on the evening of the 1st November. On the 2nd for the interested people we have arranged deep dive discussions on certain chosen topics. For overseas participants we are organising one day's sight seeing  to Dharmasthala and returning them back to Bengaluru airport by the afternoon of the 4th November.

The main objective of the conference is to deliberate on the potentials of BC/BF model for furthering the SHG bank linkage and for scaling up the activities of the SHG members leading to micro enterprises.

In this regard as you may be aware Shri Kshethra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project(R.) (SKDRDP) (www.skdrdpindia.org) a NGO from Karnataka that is engaged in promoting Self Help Groups consisting of members from the small and marginal farmer community, women and poor people. Infact SKDRDP is the largest Business Correspondent/ Banking Facilitator (BC/BF) in India which has proved that financial inclusion activities could be sustainably delivered to the unreached. With a managed credit portfolio in excess of US$1.5 billion, SKDRDP has developed core competence in linking the SHGs to banks for financial assistance and building the capacity of the small farmers for taking up sustainable farming activities.  SKDRDP has partnered health initiative of the micro credit summit in providing awareness training to women on preventive health.

Keeping in mind the potential of the SHG movement and the experiences of SKDRDP in marshaling the movement in Karnataka state over a long period of time, we are organizing an international conference at Bangalore to deliberate on the delivery of financial services to the poor people through SHG movement and the impact of the SHG movement in transforming the society both economically and socially. Representatives from across the globe  numbering  about  300  will  assemble  at the Clarks Exotica Resort and Spa very close to the Kempe Gowda International Airport,  Bangalore from 30th October to 2nd November for participating in the conference. Over 50  countries  from  Africa, North  and  South  America, the Europe and Asia are expected to participate. Stakeholders from within India involved in SHG movement, banking and microfinance will also join.

Please find the link for the website prepared for this purpose.

As an expert  in the sector we will be separately inviting you as guest speaker. We request you to participate from inaugural till the valedictory.

Also we request you to please invite micro finance operators from overseas and those involved in the development sector.  For all the overseas participants we will be offering scholarships. Which will cover the conference, boarding, lodging, pickup and drop to the airport and optional visit to Dharmasthala. Overseas visitors will have to meet their to and fro expenses only. I request you to arrange for inviting atleast 10 participants.

Looking forward to your support and confirmation.

Thanking you,
