Hi,

I'd like to start by congratulating you on a great service.  I'm eager to tie this into my smart home solutions hand-in-hand w/ IFTTT.

Here's what I'm trying to accomplish.  I used Locations applet in IFTTT to track when I'm leaving or returning home via my phone.  I have another applet testing an event for sunset and a logicblock to fire a trigger to IFTTT when I return and it is after sunset to turn on the lights hosted by WeMo.  This, however, only covers my coming and going from home.  Where this gets tricky is in the second half of my lights management.  I want to write a similar event that turns off the lights when I leave, or exit an area, but ONLY if my wife is also not at home.  My roadblock is that I cannot register a second phone in IFTTT (unless I'm missing something).  I had planned to create a second IFTTT for my wife but upon looking at the IFTTT Maker Channel API key under my User Profile settings I see only the option to Update and not Add (another IFTTT Maker key).

Do you have a suggestion how to setup APILIO to manage variables from multiple IFTTT accounts?  I do have an idea of using a different triffer from my IFTTT, such as when my wife leaves the area to create a file in Dropbox, and when that file exists from my IFTTT account then set a variable, but that begins to get ugly.

Truly appreciate all the great work you've put into this service and your assistance here.

Can't you just create another IFTTT account and have it send, via Maker, requests to your existing Apilio account to update some variable?  And then duplicate the trigger to run the "turn lights on/off logicblock" to be in both IFTTT accounts.

As far as I know, the maker API key you're seeing in Apilio is only for sending requests from Apilio to a maker account.  It's not obvious to me that your scenario is or would be doing that.  Incoming requests, like from maker to Apilio, can come from anywhere.  Your IFTTT Maker, hers, or even a web browser if you know the link.

Hey ojchase, I can certainly give that a try. I'll update this post once I have it all in place.

Completely agree. For incoming traffic you ca use any source, and hence an unlimited number of ITTT accounts.

A tool exists doing that: www.imsmart.tech
You can assign several IFTTT Maker keys as well as use integer, string and boolean variables.
Check it out.

Hi DJMW,
I would like to do something similar. Did you try from different IFTTT accounts? I did not see the update of the post.

Thank you

Just go for it, and it should work.  I have triggered Apilio variables and logicblocks from a web browser URL, which makes it clear there's no account validation going on.  That and the creator explicitly confirmed it a few posts back :)
