Hello active core!
As you may recall, JACL PSW was a key coalition partner locally during the campaign against Prop. 8. The district and JACL National continue to support our work by offering us the use of meeting space, e-mail blasting its membership about marriage equality, covering the issue in Pacific Citizen, and signing onto amicus briefs both pre- and post-Prop. 8 to provide us with some national mainstream APA cred. Also, among this year's honorees is Iku Kiriyama, mother of Traci Kato-Kiriyama who has been so supportive of us and our involvement in Tuesday Night Cafe.
If anyone is interested in attending the JACL Pacific Southwest District's 14th Annual Awards Dinner on Saturday, October 9, 2010, please contact me ASAP. This year's dinner will take place at The Grand, Long Beach Event Center, 4101 E. Willow Street, Long Beach, California. A no-host reception will be held from 6:00 p.m., and the dinner and program will begin at 7:00 p.m. This dinner is $150/person. API Equality-LA can fully sponsor one person to attend this event (or subsidize the cost for two people). If you're interested in attending, please send us back a message ASAP.
