Volunteer for outreach with API Equality-LA to fight anti-trans legislation!

Hello,

API Equality-LA has been doing public education work for the LGBTQ Asian American and Pacific Islander community since our founding in 2005. With the national rise of anti-LGBT initiatives and legislation, especially those targeting transgender and gender non-conforming people (TGNC), we are committed to building public support in the Asian American and Pacific Islander community for our TGNC siblings. 

API Equality-LA is part of TRANSFORM California, a state-wide coalition of Californians who believe the Golden State must lead the nation in promoting compassion, respect, and kindness to ensure that transgender people receive the respect they deserve. Help us prepare for our April 18th launch at LA City Hall by making posters in community!

• TRANSFORM California LA Launch Rally Poster Making
  Friday, April 15th | 5:30 PM - 8:30PM | AAAJ-LA Community Room
  Join us and Gender Justice LA, a grassroots organization building community power for TGNC people, in making posters this Friday! We’ll provide food and poster making materials! The posters will be used at the April 18th launch of our campaign. For more information, visit our facebook event here.

In addition, we will be tabling at different upcoming API and LGBTQ events. To build our movement, we need volunteers to help with public education, outreach, and voter registration. If you are interested in volunteering, RSVP in the links below!

• LA Asian Pacific Film Festival
  Friday, April 22nd 5:30 PM or Saturday, April 23rd at 3 PM | Downtown Independent.
  For the annual Asian American film festival, we will be tabling for two Asian American LGBT films. Join us in doing outreach and voter registration. For more information, please visit the LAAPFF website here.
