Hi everyone,
Visual Communication has now opened applications to their annual Armed With A Camera Fellowship for emerging Asian American Filmmakers.  The 10 fellows chosen will receive $500 each to be used for the purposes of making a 5-minute film within a 5-month time frame. The final movies will be shown at the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival that has an audience of over 16,000 people.

This is a fantastic opportunity for folks to do outreach to the API community.  If you're interested, please scroll down for more information.

Best,
Brian

Hello,

My name is Eliana Yoneda and I am the Marketing and Development Intern at Visual Communications. I am writing to you today for two reasons. First, I would like to thank you again for being a Community Co-Presenter during our 2010 Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival. Secondly, I would like to let you know that applications are now open for our annual Armed With A Camera Fellowship for emerging Asian American Filmmakers.

This fellowship is a great opportunity to enrich the Asian Pacific American Community that we are both trying to serve and we would not want any potential fellows to miss out. Because of this I was hoping that you could help us spread the word throughout this special community. Here is some basic information about the fellowship in case you are unfamiliar with it:

On July 1, 2010 Visual Communications will begin accepting applications for our 2010/2011 Armed With a Camera Fellowship. This fellowship offers emerging Asian Pacific American film and media artists an opportunity to further their development and help them make connections that they will need to thrive within the film industry. The 10 fellows chosen will receive $500 each to be used for the purposes of making a 5-minute film within a 5-month time frame. The final movies will be shown at the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival that has an audience of over 16,000 people. The Fellowship application will be open until October 1, 2010 and we will announce the winners during the last week of October.

I have attached to this email our Armed With A Camera Fellowship Press Release, Call and also a poster with informational tabs that people can rip off and take with them. All of this information can also be found online at http://www.vconline.org/alpha/cms//index.cfm/programs/artist-services/armed-with-a-camera-fellowship/. I will let you decide which is the most appropriate method of getting the word out to your community.

Thank you so much for spreading the word to your members and community. Your work is greatly appreciated.  Please, feel free to contact me at any time. I can be reached by phone at  (213) 680-4462 x30, or by email at eli...@vconline.org.

Thank You,
Eliana Yoneda
