Position: Planner/Purchaser

We are looking to bring in Planner/Purchaser to replace someone who left recently. This person will be responsible for:

• Procurement of raw materials and components from assigned suppliers
• Provide direction and development to suppliers
• Release of materials required to support ongoing production
• Ensure that accurately and timely information is provided to both vendors and internal management team (communication is KEY)
• Ensure TS16949 purchasing procedures are followed
• Evaluate cost, delivery, and performance of approved supplier list
• Expedite required materials to support ongoing production
• Meet and maintain minimum inventory levels
• Interface with production supervision, customer service, production scheduling, shipping to avoid line shortages or missed shipments

Work Environment

Japanese culture, automotive supplier for Toyota, injection molded plastic
This facility has over 400 people working there and has been here in town for over 15 years.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years materials planning/purchasing in the automotive industry is required
• Plastics materials purchasing is preferred
• AS/BS degree is preferred
• Supplier development experience is preferred
• Strong Excel skills required
• Understanding of single level vs multi-level Bill of Materials (BOM) is required
• Understanding of quotes, contracts, terms and conditions is required
• Understanding of all aspects of production control, inventory control and production scheduling in the automotive industry is key
• Excellent communication skills

Performance Expectations

• Not missing shipments and having materials on hand to keep production ongoing is the most important aspect
• Fantastic communication and interpersonal skills are key for this roleworking with so many different departments
• Good personality is also key

Role Mission

Manager, Production Scheduling/Master Scheduler contributes to the success of the overall plant operation by strategically managing the overall production stream through the Frankfort Plant. The Manager is a strategic thinker that pulls the entire supply chain together with plant operations and looks at production holistically to coordinate an optimized production plan. The Manager is a dedicated Plant liaison between Customer Service, Materials Management, Centralized Planning, 3rd Parties providers, 3rd Party Customer(s), Commercial, Finance, as well as other departments. The Manager continually communicates FF Production status, capacity planning, changes and capability

Qualifications & Experience

• Education- Bachelor’s Degree in Materials Management, Logistics, Business or Finance a minimum; Master Degree in Supply Chain or related field preferred.
• Years of experience – Minimum 5 to 7 years managing scheduling, production planning and/or materials management utilizing SAP or ERP system.
• Experience with materials & finished goods planning and inventory management in a multi-site, CPG manufacturing environment.
• Experience in a make-to-stock production planning system, using SAP-MRP as a primary planning tool with SAP (MPS/MRP) and Inventory management.
• Experience with APO & Detailed Scheduling or similar advanced planning supply network planning, scenario analysis, multi level constraint planning tools experience External Procurement Planning, Resource Scheduling and Sequence Optimization. PP/DS - Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling a must.
• Understanding of the following: KPIs, order/piece fill rates, Life in days (LID), On time in full (OTIF), Purchase Price Variance (PPV), schedule adherence, Economic Batch Quantities (EBQ’s), etc.
• Previous experience implementing SAP planning in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Level of experience- Excellent analytical, organizational, investigation, problem solving and communication skills are a must. This position requires exceptional computer proficiency in SAP, MS Word, Excel, Access, Power Point. Must have significant previous experience working with SAP and AS400 in a fast pace industrial/ manufacturing environment.
• Ability to make critical decisions and stay calm in fluid and changing situations.
• ISO, Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing experience preferred.
