A Presentation of Manager versus Leader
Tom will present an entertaining look at the contrasts between an old style manager and a new style leader. We will have an opportunity to see how the styles differ and the actions that are required to work as an effective leader. Elements of motivating subordinates will also be discussed along with the presentation of a leadership tool that will allow all participants to resolve any conflict, at any level, at any time, without damaging a relationship.
Tom’s background includes:
Dr. Thomas LaBaugh has a breadth of experience in career counseling, executive coaching, training, team building and higher education administration. He has served as a consultant in a Big Eight accounting firm, Dean of Admissions and college Vice President, a college marketing consultant and teacher of marketing at the Master’s level.
Since starting his company in 1994, he has served as President of LaBaugh and Associates, Inc. providing career transition (outplacement), executive coaching, leadership training and team building services from his offices in Louisville, Kentucky. He has made hundreds of presentations on a number of group and personal growth topics and often serves as a keynote speaker for meetings of professional organizations. He has a B.A. from Kenyon College, MBA from Central Michigan University., and a Ph.D. from Michigan State University.
